    Missing Sight

I had to replace the front sight on my old ASM .36 Navy. It was just pressed into the barrel if I recall correctly. I got a small brass screw and I think a dab of epoxy and pressed that in. It was very snug to start with. I left the sight tall, and filed it to where I wanted it to hit...

Thompson Center Hawken hurts my face

To sort of lengthen the stock, wear a sweatshirt or coat. That could be a simple fix.

    Dark horn

I have a horn that I’ve been working off and on for a while. The color is a mottled dark and light. I would like to turn the darker portion cream colored or white. I might have to resort to a paint. Yours looks good.

    Pietta Colt 1836 Texas Paterson

If you have access to any old Dixie Gun Works catalogs, you might have more luck getting a better idea as to when those revolvers were available. I don’t own a Pietta Paterson. I do have a Uberti version with the loading lever. I think they are very interesting and beautiful. There’s just...

A genuine antique Civil War powder flask

My first one was a whole $10.00. I still have it. One of my nephews was looking at that same flask you posted. He wanted to get it for a birthday present for his father. I told him it wasn’t original or antique for that matter. I found that exact one for him for a bit over $30.00 plus...

A new project I just finished

For myself, I like the acorn finial. I made a horn over forty years ago. The horn came right from the slaughter house. It still had the core and was off the animal for maybe four or five hours. When it came to making the end plug, I turned a piece of maple. To make filling the horn...

New Colt 1851 Navy C series

Pete453, I would bet that a consignment gun price would be negotiable. Find out how long the revolver has been in his shop. Ask if the price is firm and have him call the owner to see if he will knock off a couple of dollars. He might be hungry enough to go for it. If he won’t come down...

    50. Cal “Plumb Brown” CVA Muzzleloader (help)

What you have there is a CVA Mountain Rifle. They have a following to say the least. Yours has the USA made barrel and four screw patch box. They are very accurate rifles if taken care of. 👍👍👍😎
