    A percussion muzzleloader

The locomotive and tender resemble the American "Tom Thumb" built in 1830. By the time percussion caps along the locomotive was well developed beyond what's pictured. The first German railroad was built in 1835, all 3 1/2 miles of it used a locomotive built in England. The building depicted do...

    Lead could dissolve a marriage

Over 40 years ago I asked Mrs. Whitworth "you wash everything in hot water correct?" Haven't anything to with laundry except help her fold bed sheets since :thumb: I do wash dishes though.

    Euroarms 36 Brass Frame

If you can measure it accurately what's the distance between the forcing cone and the breech face? Maybe that will help, I have 3 different makes of the 1851 and can check distance and cylinder length to help you find the right match.

    Trying to lighten the cookware

While not historically correct an old Boy Scout mess kit has a frying pan, plate, small pot with lid and drinking cup. Made of aluminium its light and doesn't take up much space.

    Help with new 1851

I've repaired a few messed up screw heads by carefully peening the displaced metal down and dressing up the face and the slot with a file. Then a bit of cold blue and viola, much better looking screws.

Percussion Shooting Thru steel??? Is that possible...??

I'm more afraid of a dried out dead Locust or Elm stump sending a ball back than any steel target. Brother Steve caught a lead .45 Colt in the chest off an Elm stump from about 10 yards, didn't break the skin but it left a welt. My poor old home made 75 yard Davis Tutt steel hanger is pretty...

Think so, they're frosted. Too cold makes wrinkled balls.
