    Escopetas again

Bringing this one back up. I'd love to see us go forward with a new-made miquelet lock. The lock by Navarro/Nabarro that Señor Rick posted back on Page 3 looks like a good candidate for Chris Hirsch, although the engraving might make it a challenge.

    Patterning navy double 12 gauge

I would be thrilled with that pattern-- even from a modern unmentionable. Is that a greased pattern board? I have seen them but never used one. Looks like a very nice range you have there.

My latest daydream: A Kibler escopeta ...

Rick, I had forgotten about the CVA Ripoll pistol. Why did I not buy one? Rudyard, that gorgeous escopeta you built would fit the bill perfectly. I have moved back to New Mexico, the heart of escopeta land.

My latest daydream: A Kibler escopeta ...

Rudyard, I should have guessed that you have an escopeta or two under your gunmaker's belt! I will revisit the museums in Santa Fe and Albuquerque once back in the state -- and Kit Carson's wonderful old home in Taos. It seems there may have been an escopeta at the Coronado Historic Site...

    Old Maynard/New owner

I've been blessed to own two Second Models over the years and they are such simple and yet enchanting carbines. I hope you really enjoy shooting yours.

My latest daydream: A Kibler escopeta ...

Rick, you are absolutely correct. It all starts with a well-designed and built lock. Once one becomes available, finding a source to cast buttplate, trigger guard and barrel bands would not be difficult, and a CNC stock shaping and inletting program could be written. I see this as more than...

My latest daydream: A Kibler escopeta ...

Songwriter, I have a hunch that once awakened, there would be a sizable audience interested in escopetas in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, California and possibly Florida. Art, it might make sense to "dun" some of the Indian houses on the subject or ask Loyalist or Charles at Veteran Arms to help...

My latest daydream: A Kibler escopeta ...

Well, Art, you must have an inside line speaking for Jim as you do. Of course I realize such a project would have to pencil out, and I have no idea what the demand for it would be, but I also believe that if such a kit were available and it dawned on American muzzleloader shooters what a...

My latest daydream: A Kibler escopeta ...

Art, I firmly believe Jim Kibler can make whatever firearm he takes a notion to and hit it out of the park on the first pitch.
