    Traveling with pistol and powder

BP and percussion caps are classified as an explosive by the USDOT and as such the USDOT forbids explosives on commercial aircraft. I have flown quite a bit with ML and modern arms in the USA and to other countries. The ONLY time I got checked by a TSA person was in Fairbanks AK. They did not...

Info wanted on this Watson folding knife

Billy Watson of TN. I have bought 5 of his knifes, gave 2 away as gifts and kept 3 for myself. Used one of his knifes in the kitchen tonight to cut up some brisket. Looks like osage handle. My knifes are all osage orange handles. My blades are I think a little soft. Mine dont hold an...

    Rose Damascus Dueling Pistol Set

If you are really wanting a cased set of dueling pistols there are quite a few that always pop up on auctions. I have always wanted a set and so I bought them a few year ago. Shot them both and they were very accurate and a hoot to shoot. Now they are simply displayed in our 4 seasons room...

    LR ML Build Recommendations

Have you heard of Rod England? He has a Alex Henry kit that is top notch. Not many choices, but you cant go wrong with Rod's Rice makes a great barrel out of the quality of steel that you need. In fact, you might want to contract Rice and see if Jason will sell you a LRML that he just...

Long Range Muzzle Loading in the UK, 2024

I dont want to derail David's thread and I also dont know that I can live up to TFoley's kind remarks, but Bad Karma you should check out the Creedmoor 150 match that Rick Weber is hosting later this year. I know for a fact that he is allowing shooters with disabilities to shoot in the match...

How to assess an original antique gun?

If you think a bear is a furry person then I am sorry, not much hope for you, I dont want to drink that kool aid. A bear is a bear, nothing more, nothing less. You can respect the animal, but it is not a human, just like my dogs are not my children, they are my dogs. Dont get me wrong, I...

    Conical for bull elk

The peep sight folds down when not in use. You just got to make sure that if it is folded down, you dont take the staff into your eye when shooting the open sights. Open sights for closer work, peep sight set for longer range. Regarding wads, TOW has .50 cal wool wads that are lubed, or...

    Conical for bull elk

Like others have stated, you got to be more careful with a conical making sure you know your yardage, or you have a greater chance of having a bad shot. I like stated prior, try some wads if you are getting poor accuracy. You might be surprised on how it can shrink your groups. Fleener
