    Damascus with Curly Maple Knife

I have had this chunk of Damascus layin around the shop for a few years so I decided to make a little full tang knife out of it. I finished the handle with aquafortis and oil. It is paired with a nice veg tan belt sheath. Thanks for looking!!

    Thank you kindly, gentlemen!!

So I made a patch knife!

I think you did a fantastic job on that knife! That old hay rake will hold an edge and cut through patches like a razor. It will also be a good little squirrel skinner if need be!

    Couple of Knives

It’s always a fun time over Thanksgiving to get out to the forge and make knives with my brothers. Here are a couple I made to send back home to a couple of old buddies. They are forged from 1075 steel with deer horn handles and poured pewter bolsters. Thanks for looking!!

What is the reasonable distance to quickly kill a turkey with a muzzleloader?

40 yards might as well be a 1/4 mile when I have my flintlock. It will test your patience to have a bird "hung up" in the wide open at 30 yards:). My problem and most folks problem is the pattern, if yours shoots a tight enough pattern, them fours will knock him down

    Another Ball Flask

I sand the pieces flush and slick the edges with water. Lightly sand again and burnish the edge with beeswax and a piece of folded up canvas. I stain them before any of this

    Another Ball Flask

Yes, I stuck it in my metal lathe to get the diameter of the bag hole and then put it in my wood lathe to turn the top. Thank you fellas for the compliments!

    Another Ball Flask

Had to make one for my .32 rifle. Stained this one a shade darker and made a stopper from a cow horn tip. Thanks for looking!!

    Leather Ball Flask

Thanks man! I used your tip with the compressor and it worked great. Took a little while for it to dry to form though. Of course, I probably had it too wet to begin with anyway. Thanks for the tip!!

    Leather Ball Flask

Just finished this up to go with my Kibler SMR. Had a scrap deer bone end from the last knife handle so I glued it to a pine dowel and used it for the plug. I think I’ll rough it up a little to add a some more character. Thanks for looking!

    Old Knife Opinions

Depending on where you are located down there you should be able to get on top of some good stuff. Troops were wandering around all down through Arkansas. Find you an old homesite and slow down to pick your way through the clutter. It'll be there

    Old Knife Opinions

I’ve saved a bunch of stuff over the years. Hundreds of Civil war bullets and balls along with cannonballs , grapeshot and canister rounds. A US bayonet is among my favorite finds. I found it under another old barn floor. I’ve got musket parts, Civil War buttons, musket caps, pinfire casings...

    Priming Flasks

The neat factor is there for sure when I carry one of these priming horns but to be honest, I like the convenience of the little brass push dispenser primer better. I can wear it around my neck and forget it's there. Plus, when a squirrel dodges my ball, like they do a lot of the time, it...
