    TC New Englander 12ga. Kit

Yes, they made them in kits, just like all the other kits. I put a .54 together and sold it,bought every one I have seen since to compensate LOL.

Embers left in the barrel after a shot?

In a rifle, can't you just drop your ramrod down the the bore with a couple of short up and downs. Especially with old cap left on,you would think this would put out any spark.Thought I read this in a very old muzzleloader book?

    New Englander Chokes

The older Winchester "Winchokes" work in the New Englander.

    TRUE-OIL

They still make the original Tru-Oil. The new stuff is called Genuine Tru-Oil and it is different. It has a satin finish, and the dry times are a lot longer. It does smell different and I don't like it.Longer dry times are a pain, and if I want a Satin finish I just use grey 3M scuff pads to dull...

    Nipple seems too loose

Don't know if they sell oversize metric, but they do sell about 5 sizes up from the standard US 1/4x28 thread. You might be better going that route.

Am I Dumb For Not Taking the Deal?

To put things in perspective,I have seen a few TC 12ga. barrels alone go for $400.Most go for $300+.So if you sold just the barrels it would be around $400.Then you have a stock and lock worth Aprox.-$200. Definitely under retail!!

    Unbreakable ramrod

I too made many ramrods from the brown fiberglass.Better make sure you use a muzzle guard all the time. Now I use electrical shrink tubing over my fiberglass rods and it works perfect as a non abrasive indestructible ramrod-range rod.

    Early T/C Hawken Breech

Well he may not have spent $200 for a lock, but it will end up real close.TC flintlocks are gold on Ebay and his lock has the old style hammer. If he upgrades the TC hammer he will be close to $200 for a lock. But he still made the right choice!

    Pedersoli Blue Ridge flintlock rifle?

Just keep in mind that the Blue Ridge flintlocks are not the best [the Locks].And ignition channel on both percussion and flintlocks is very fussy and needs to be cleaned very well.I have a Blue Ridge in .54 Percussion, their percussion lock seems very reliable. And if you don't use the set...

A tip from a tight old timer!

I have a couple of putty knives that work nicely for that slot.Hacksaw blade would be nice to have in a hunting bag,and can be used for different things.

    Wholesale Hunter

All of the big internet gun dealers are all saying they are swapped. Most say 30 days or more to process a order.Been looking for a Pedersoli Sharps rifle and eveybody's inventory of Italian guns is way down,or way overpriced.

    WANTED t/c new englander hammer

SOLD Thompson Center “Renegade” .54 cal

That was a pretty good deal. And that crack in the stock is super easy to fix. I'm pretty good at it,as almost all the TC's I buy have it LOL! It's kind of a hallmark of the earlier TC's.

    Knife Identification

Well, that there is a good ole Pakistani knif. It is based on some older pattern. All the venders carry them at Rondys, they used to cost about $7-8 bucks.I use them in my hunting bags.

    Singeing a ramrod...

I use the narrower white medical tape, and put a barber shop pole spiral on the rod. When you torch it go quick,as not to start the tape on fire. When you take it off, clean up the rod with 90% alchohol and scuff pad.It does leave adhesive residue but,it is pretty easy to clean up. When done...
