Another possibility that comes to mind is that Sharon barrel company out of Kalispell Montana.

They sold a drop in barrel’s for TC
Hawken and Renegade back in the day. Mid to late 70’s. Have a couple of old adds advertising their drop in barrels for TC.

I will assume that the rifle in question is indeed a Renegade model.

Question for the OP? Is the barrel a 15/16 or 1” barrel? Outer diameter my friend. Measure the flats from side to side.

Respectfully, Cowboy

If it’s a 1” barrel I’d assume you have a .54 instead of a .50 my friend.

It’s a TC Renegade stock on that rifle for sure. The barrel channel on the stock for the .45 and .50 is a 15/16 channel on their Hawken model. The .54 TC Hawken and the Renegade have a 1” barrel channel.

I’m still a little confused about your rifle being a .50 with a 1” barrel though?

Just for grins I pulled out my Sharon trade rifle in .50 to measure across the flats. It’s a 1” barrel. The twist on the Sharon .50 barrel is 1:72. The TC Renegade and Hawken have a 1:48 twist as been mentioned earlier.

The Sharon barrel could be fitted to the standard TC breech plug.

Lastly, The stock and hardware on your rifle is definitely TC Renegade. The barrel is the only thing of question as of the actual manufacturer?

It's been a process but it looks like all of you have solved the mystery for me.
Thompson Center Renegade
26" Defarbed Thompson Center Barrel minus the breech plug
1:48 Twist
50 Cal
Thanks for all the help and the id on the other 2 guns.

It appears to have a TC fint lock with the old style cock. The one with the bad geometry they replaced. The Gun Works web site has the newer clocks for sale, i got one to replace the bad one. Nice people too. So if going to shoot it replace the cock so it strikes the Frizzen higher.

Some T/C barrel info that may help:

I have two T/C Renegades; a .50 cal. kit SN K28,xxx and a .54 factory SN 270,xxx. Just measured them with vernier calipers and both are 1" barrels, both are stamp Thompson Center Arms.

I could not find the TC replacement cock on their website?
