What to do when your farsightedness get`s worse..?

The worse my eyes get, the more I tend to prefer my smoothbores. Apparently having Lasik surgery 22 years ago is doing interesting things to my eyesight now.

    Whistle pig with the 45

Good shooting! Chasing those critters is way harder than going after deer. When you can get them you are doing well.

    Underhammer Buggy Rifle

Well done! I think the whole idea of the bicycle rifle needs to be brought back.

    Bobby Hoyt Interview

I had been wondering what he looked like and how old. You imagine a guy with that much knowledge would have to be getting close to 200 or so.

    Grafs Has Shooters World Powder

I didn't think we were supposed to talk about subs here, but if it is OK I see this stuff is made by American Pioneer, so should be the same ascorbic acid based powder as Shocky's Gold or regular APP. Simple to use, no bullet lube really needed, and not terribly powerful. Has anybody actually...

58 cal Hawkens roundball load ?

My Hoyt rebored Renegade shoots well with 80 - 100 grains of homemade powder. It doesn't seem to care about the exact load so I use 80 for less powder use and recoil. Kills deer and paper just fine.

Glass bedding a TC Cherokee stock ?

I have a later Cherokee with a single trigger and it looks just like the bottom rifle. As small as the patent breech and lock are on those there's no way that barrel would fit into a Hawken stock. So, I doubt there can be 1/4" of movement in that barrel. But if it is loose, the first thing to...

    Enfield vs Springfield

I agree, if the Enfield had about an inch more drop at the comb I would consider it the ideal rifle. As is, it is certainly better for shooting prone compared to the Springfield. For offhand I have had to learn to hold it like a shotgun rather than a rifle to make it work.

    More Cap Making Observations

I need to make some with double thickness cups and try them. The single thick ones I make don't work in revolvers. I think I'm loading them too heavy and they blow out the sides instead of firing the charge. They work perfectly on rifles though.

    More Cap Making Observations

All I would add is to buy your primer mix chemicals from a pyro supply house or even on Amazon, and save a bunch of money. A pound of each one will make a lifetime's supply.
