    Pedersoli Frontier Rifle! Please help!

I recently bought an RPL06 L&R myself. Sent the lock in for warranty work and Post Office lost the contents! Long story short, the L&R did not fit, would've needed inletting (not just for internals like they say), wood filler to fill the gaps it would have left, and the lock bolt was off...

Carnuba wax? Which one to buy?

Thanks for all the responses gents. Never imagined I'd get so many different answers, but should have figured  I have Johnsons and have been using it. Wanted to try a Carnuba just to compare and see if I liked it any better. Seemed like I was always reading people are using Carnuba...

Carnuba wax? Which one to buy?

I swear I've searched every post the search came up with for Carnuba Wax but haven't found a brand name for stock protection. Want to try some for my stock and metal protection. I've been to checkers, auto zone, Wally world, ace hardware. Found different auto carnuba (some says cleans and helps...

What is the effective touch hole blast distance???

What kind of shield? I don't have a shooting box yet but a good idea. I'm picturing maybe just a piece of plywood with a small 90* base and clamping it down with some C clamps? I started shooting b.p. On my own then progressed to flintlocks and am the only one of my friends or hunting buddies...

What is the effective touch hole blast distance???

At the range the tables are around 8'+ apart and have a shade between each table, black powder club tables are probably 10'+ apart and rarely somebody at the next table so I don't think it's ever really been an issue to me yet but a good idea.

What is the effective touch hole blast distance???

Was at the range today shooting and ran into a guy I used to work with. He was shooting a semi auto pistol and started to admire my flinters and realized we knew each other. He seemed interested and asking me what kind of grouping I am getting at the 100 yards I was shooting at, how do they...

    new(to me) rock lock

I use 60 grains FFF Goex for hunting and gets me dead on at 100 yards. 50 grains Punching paper at 100 yards is still dead on. 25 yards paper 45 grains 50 yards paper 50 grains. Start at 45 grains and probably wouldn't go too far past 70, but doubt you'd need that much?

Drilling the Breech out on a Blue Ridge and other improvements?

OK, Gotcha! For some reason I was envisioning a 90* angle being drilled through the touch hole and enlargening the channel somehow???!!! Oops! Now I gothca, makes much more sense now running straight down the barell. I'll shoot ya a PM after a few more failed shooting sessions and if I...

    TVM - issues

Sorry to hear about your troubles, that really sucks and would be my luck, except my outcome probably would not have been as good.... What a disapointment, but it sounds very encouraging and that is great that TVM will accept responsibility and hash it out with UPS! I have only had two issues...

Drilling the Breech out on a Blue Ridge and other improvements?

Ebiggs, took a 1/16" bit to the liner last night, it was Barely not quite 1/16", but is now. Can't see this fixing my problem but will give it a shot. So just how big is a #50, or #51 bit  ? 1/16? Maybe a touch bigger? SC thank you for the pic, that definitely helps, and looked...

Drilling the Breech out on a Blue Ridge and other improvements?

Ohio, I can't quite picture excatly what your describing for the life of me right now LOL :haha: That's good you were able to drill out w/o removing your breech! Good deal and encouraging! So what missfire problems were you having? Did this solve your problem 100%? The missfires I had should...

Drilling the Breech out on a Blue Ridge and other improvements?

Wow, I sure thought there were more people doing this? I’ve seen lots of threads when people are talking about drilling the breech a larger diameter (not making it deeper past the touch hole), basically enlarging the channel into the powder chamber. Still not quite sure just what Stumpkiller...

Drilling the Breech out on a Blue Ridge and other improvements?

unfortunately I'll have up to a couple of weeks to do some tweeks to this gun. So I hope I can do a few improvements in the mean time. It seems as though my replacement Pedersoli lock I JUST recieved for this gun likes to missbehave already. The sear gets hung up on the fly instead of gliding...

Drilling the Breech out on a Blue Ridge and other improvements?

I have a Cabelas Blue Ridge rifle in a .36 cal and have read people drill out the patent breech from 5/16"-3/8" and aids in quickness and reliability. Well all of the posts were 3/8" except 1 guy said 5/16". I know that little breech gets some serious fouling in there pretty quick too! My...

000 buck shot in 36 cal. gm barrels

    Ok, I guess I missunderstood rounderness vs. weight tollerence...... OOPS! I weighed 20 .350 000 buckshot vs. .350 hornady roundballs so we all can compare now........ 000 Hornady .350 Buckshot weighed 20 ea. in grains 63.3, 63.7,63.5, 63.5, 63.4, 62.9, 63.3, 63.3, 62.7, 62.8, 63.5, 62.7...

    Ball Stuck

+2 Use air if possible. If the powder has been in there long, chances are its had some humidity, condensation, or the powder has sucked up the ball lube and the powder has turned to goo, dried up and just a big caked up mess like dried clay and air probably won't get around that or blow it out...

    Thompson Firestorm Issues

Here is a link for Track of the Wolf (TOW) These flints work well in my T/C Flinter, Siler lock, pedersoli lock and a few other fintlocks I've used them with. http://www.trackofthewolf.com/Categories/TableList.aspx?catID=2&subID=29&styleID=83 Rich also makes a good flint. Were you using FF in...

000 buck shot in 36 cal. gm barrels

X2, I use the Hornady 000 .350 If I hunt anything bigger than rabbits (maybe Javelina this year) I may use a swagged ball for the possibility of a little more expansion but paper, squirrels, rabbits, and other smaller game it's a no brainer at a fraction of the price, plus accuracy seems just as...
