    Thank you everyone who replied to my dilemma. I ended up taking the rifle to a gunsmith and I'll have it next week. Boy I'm sure glad I didn't shoot it. BTW somewhere over time I doubled register and forgot my password. Sorry for any confusion. Steve

    OK I was wrong about it be froze. It does pull back ,but man is it hard. So I guess what I don't understand is how does it work. I looked in the manual but I didn't find any info. When do I use the rear trigger ?

    Well this past X-mas I bought a New Lyman GP. Tomorrow will be my first time out with it to the range. I have the barrel all clean and etc. but I'm not sure how the double trigger works. The rear trigger doesn't move at all. Is it supposed to ? The front trigger is fine. Any suggestions ?Thanks...

    Remington capper

    I was looking at Ted Cash' web site and that inline Universal capper doesn't work well with #10 caps. I did watch that video where he took a dremel to his cylinder but I don't think I want to do that to mine.I can't believe no one has designed a capper for #10 caps on a Remmie.

    Just want to say I took my Remington 1858 out last week for the first time. Man what a blast. BUT what does everyone use to get the caps on their Remington's. The capper I have fits the Colt clones but not the Rem.36 I had to put each cap on by hand.Thanks in advance

    Well I've had these blackpowder handguns for a few yrs now finally got to shoot them.All I can say is WOW what a blast. I've been lurking here for awhile,that's how I learned what to do and what not to do. Great info.Thanks for a great informative forum. Steve
