Fooling with a Ruger Old Army

Here in the UK these pistols are very popular, myself though I have a Euroarms 1858 Target s/s. The Ruger is an excellent pistol, however I went for the Euroarms as it is based more on the original and I liked that.

Your one LUCKY guy. That's a good way to store your pistols sir, I think I'll be copying that and some felt on the inside of the door as well. Out of curiosity what are the other pistols below??

Caps number11 Remington NEW hottercaps v CCI

Just tried these Remington caps and they fit perfectly on the nipples of my Euroarms .44 Remington 1858. They have a uniform fit unlike the CCI junk. I don't even have to use a capper, or dowel to push them on. From my experience these are by far superior to CCI caps.

    Caps

I find CCI caps fit perfect no problems whatsoever. However recent batch I bought I was having to pinch them slightly. Must have been a bad batch. No 11's by the way, pistol Remington 1858 Euroarms.

Mec that's fine shooting. I'm new to cap n ball bought a Euroarms Remington .44 early November, and keeping practicing 200 rounds so far and I am lucky if I get 3inch groups at 25m. Using 24g 777, .454 balls (HORNABY,) lubed wads. Tried .451 but found these not tight enough. A lot of the guys...

Ridin in from the UK, looking for like minded folk

Many thanks good people for the warm welcome. Rus, no problems with rifles in the UK as long as of course you have your FAC, club member, and shoot on Ministry of Defence ranges. Semi-autos only in .22 are OK note at the moment. Yep afraid gov't in the UK is anti everything. Mr&Mrs Fox like...

Ridin in from the UK, looking for like minded folk

Well very impressed with the knowledge you guys have. Here in the UK only handguns you can have now are airpistols, or ball and cap. Yep the HOME OFFICE forgot ball and cap when they imposed the ban back in 97. I have only recently purchased a REMINGTON 1858 .44 by EUROARMS and I am on that...
