Where can I buy a quality straight grained hickory ramrod with the ends already installed so they won't come off?

    50g FFFg for Whitetail?

Jaguar is a different species. If it lived in Canadia, it would be 600lbs....actually, in Canadia it would weigh 272 Kgs.

    Metal Ramrods

How often did brass or even iron ramrods get used on Hawkens, Plains, or Trade rifles? I see that there are a couple of online stores that sell them, but how period correct are they actually?

    50g FFFg for Whitetail?

Thanks to everyone who has responded. I plan to keep my shots within 75 yards. Most shots will be at 50 yards or less.

    50g FFFg for Whitetail?

Good morning, I have a T/C Haken 50cal that shoots very, very well with 50g of Goex FFFg and a Hornady PRB. At 75 yards and under, is this adequate for deer? Thanks

    120gr FFFG??

Well, as tedious as it has become to give it, thank you for the advice. :) I will start working up a load with a light charge like 55gr. Thanks everyone who has responded. I will report back with my results.

    120gr FFFG??

I will try 55gr of the FFFg. I also will try my Pyrodex Select FFg and start with 55gr as well. I really am interested in trying a different patch. Many folks seem to believe in the pillow ticking material for a patch, so I'll give that a whirl. Thanks for your help.

    120gr FFFG??

This is not a new rifle. The patches are not pre-lubed. I have not recovered any patches.

    120gr FFFG??

I have a T/C Hawken .50cal rifle. I want to shoot PRB's from it. I took it to the range and got crappy results. 4" groups at 25 yards. On the advice of a buddy, I increased my charge from 80gr on up to 100gr. This shrunk my groups to about 2.5" at 25 yards. So, I decided to push the proverbial...

    Help Me Spend My $$$$.$$

Help me out here. I want a simple trade rifle or Hawken style .50 or .54 cal. percussion rifle. I am interested in a custom job from a reputable smith. October Country and Pedersoli are nice options, but I'm looking for the next level here. I found a picture on Track of The Wolf of a rifle that...

    CVA Trapper Shotgun

I have this single barrel shotgun and it has the screw in chokes. The owner's manual says not to shoot single projectiles because of the screw in chokes. I would think that using the Improved Cylinder choke would be fine. Is this warning simply legal talk to save CVA from litigation or is it a...

    A Tale of Two Nipples...

I own to 50 cal. T/C Hawken rifles. I use CCI no.11 caps. On one rifle, the caps fit too tight and will barely go on. On the other rifle, they are too loose and will fall off the nipple if you turn the rifle over/sideways. What can I do asides from buying two new nipples? :hmm: Thanks.

    I stuck my wire brush.....

Brother, I fixed my ramrods from breaking when I ordered a couple of solid aluminum rods from T/C. But thanks for the tip.

    I stuck my wire brush.....

Hello all. Longtime reader, first time poster. I broke a wire bore brush off in the bottom of my T/C Hawken's barrel. After trying for a couple hours to get it out with a ball puller and a patch-getter, I went to Google. The end result was me pullin' the nipple and getting about 15 grains of...
