    .530 roundball

I have a Renegade .56 Cal. smoothbore ML. I was given a box of .530 roundballs. Could I double patch with .010 patches to make up the difference or would this adversley effect accuracy. Thanks! :)

    Removing rust

I picked up a smoothbore barrel at a tag sale. It has some rust and pits in it. I am considering trying to sand the bore to remove the rust but dont know if the sanding marks on the metal will be worse than the rust. :hmm: Any suggestions?

Can't get my TC Renegade 56 (smoothbore)sighted in

I use a .550 ball, a .010 patch, and 85gr FFg Goex powder. That is basically what the manual says so I would start there. I get reasonable groups at 75 yds. The ball fits tightly which it should. The sprue I face forward. Every ML shoots differently so I am in no way telling you the this...

    Rust in bore part2

I tried the barrel last weekend and it performed nicely. At 100 yards it held a 3" group. The only difference I found was it needed to be cleaned more often between shots. About every two shots. Thanks to all who posted a suggestion or comment.

    Roundball sizes

I have a .56 Cal. smoothbore. I have a box of roundballs that I was given. I put a micrometer to them and they differ in size. Anywhere from .545 to .550. Should I be using anything that isnt .550? Also how thick should my patches be and if I use the smaller balls should I use a thicker patch...

    Hello from Massachusettes

I'm from Northern Berkshire County. My father bought two of these and gave me one recently when I showed an interest in muzzleloader hunting. He passed recently so now I'm on my own trying to find the components I need. My email is [email protected]. Thanks

    Houston, We have a problem

Thanks for your suggestions. There hadnt been any powder in the weapon and I did a light swabbing of the barrel the night before and stored the weapon upsidedown overnight. The next morning I dry swabbed it and went hunting in dry conditions. How long will powder be usable if kept in the factory...
