    New Handgonne

Who can point me to some info on making a proper match? And an S-curve? We used an incense punk, and that was fine, but it sort of mellowed me out too much...

    New Handgonne

Cynthia, it's actually pretty low on investment. No flints, none of that painstaking...aiming. But plenty of satisfying bang and smoke...and clean up. But what to name it... Anyone have any ideas?

    New Handgonne

Just gave my wife a beautiful .50 handgonne custom made by Freekforge. We had an awesome afternoon shooting it. *Highly* recommend it.

    Plastic can for black powder?

    OK. Thanks.

    Plastic can for black powder?

Just bought some KIK from the good folks at Powder Inc. It comes in plastic 1-pound cans. Plastic makes me think about static, which makes me think about sparks, which makes me think about all those warnings on plastic gasoline cans. Does anyone have any special tricks to avoid static sparks...

    Powder for flintlock

Thanks--your assumption was correct--I'm completely new to muzzleloading. One problem with the Pedersoli chart you linked to is that I can't find the Frontier flintlock in .50 listed. Another is that while it tells how many grains of powder, it doesn't say what sort f, ff, fff, etc. Or maybe...

    Range Rod Length

    Excellent. Thank you!

    Range Rod Length

I want to get a good range rod for my .50 flinter on the way via UPS. Just assuming that if my barrel is 39 inches, the rod should be a few inches longer. But the very longest rod I can find for sale is 37 inches. So...where should I look? Or am I wrong about the length I need?

    Powder for flintlock

A fine drive for me. Do they sell in person? On their site it looks like online and phone orders, but nothing about a shop?

    Powder for flintlock

OK, newbie flintlock question. What kind of powder do I want? I'll be shooting a .50 Pedersoli Frontier flinter. And does anyone know where to get it in Little Rock? I tried the Muzzle Loader Shop in NLR, but the sign said "Closed Due to Illness."

    Great advice--thanks!

    Unfortunate Experience

Dude. I'm definitely not buying a cannon. That's absurd. I mean, that's way over the top. I have no interest in cannons. At all. But, like, what kind of cannons are we talking here? Like, what caliber? And how do you prime them? And what's the range on one of these things? Is the...

Did go to Hattieville, on your advice. Thank you! It was awesome!

    Patches

First visit to the range of the Arkansas Muzzle Loaders Association was really wonderful. So many excellent people. I am still processing the things I noticed but forgot to ask about. Here's one: Everyone used patches--I take it that that's mandatory. But further, everyone used exactly the...

    Flintlock Caliber

I have a feeling that it is like that...we're really talking about the order of acquisition. :) I did end up purchasing (from the classifieds here) a Pedersoli .50. I think it'll be good to start with. I am not, and won't be, a hunter--it's just not my thing. I probably would have stuck...

    Rod question

I had my first flintlock experience on Saturday with the EXCELLENT folks at the Arkansas Muzzle Loading Association. They have their own range, suited perfectly for the distinctive needs of muzzle loaders...including a few...brackets, up high overhead, used to unstick rods that have become...
