    turkey spurs?

What is a good way to keep a turkey spur from looking old? Seems like my first set of spurs, the actual "coating" on the spur itself is frosty looking. I just cleaned them up and put them on a string a few years ago. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the info. I will try the steel wool and see what happens. Brad

    canoe gun

I think that I will go with a regular sized smoothbore of some sort. Early Rustic Arms maybe? I haven't really decided on a style yet. 1750 to 1770 possibly, a common everyday type with no fancies. Thanks for the info, Brad

    left handed guns

Well since the prices on firearms isn't dropping, I am figuring to get a lefty this time around. I never had a flinch problem until I got my rt. handed flinter. It has taken a lot of work to over come something so simple. And it still gets me once in a while.

    left handed guns

I am left handed but, I have never owned a left handed gun of any sort. Besides handguns I guess. Anyway for those that have a lefty is it worth it? I guess I have always just adapted. Shooting a flintlock is really a distraction though.

    canoe gun

Well I tried the "search" with no real results. So, is a canoe gun as versatile as it sounds or would a person be better off with a fowler or smoothy of another flavor. I'm kind of after something in a design that pre-dates my Penn. rifle and would be just an everyday shooter. A no frills...

    rough spot in bore

I'll have to dig through my pile and re-read that. Took the old girl out today and shot her. The rest of the barrel is smooth as silk, just a rough spot right where the ball sits on a good 70 gr. load.

    canoe gun kit

Are there any kits around to build a canoe gun? Or does a canoe gun just sound more versatile than it really is? I have never built a kit gun before but work with wood some.

    rough spot in bore

Thanks, I'll give that a shot tomorrow.

    rough spot in bore

I have a .45 flintlock that has developed a rough spot in the bore near the breech end. It was "tight" and easily fouled near the breech ever since I owned it. And I'm sure that my cleaning habits added to my misery. How can this be solved? For some reason this barrel has always been quick to...

    Pedersoli Quality?

I have an older Penn. flinter that seems to be what I would expect for the money that I spent. Although the barrel seems to develop surface rust in the bore no matter what I do. I also had a dp sharps that was a beautiful rifle that was a joy to shoot. Any suggestions on the bore rust?
