    How many grains per pound?

Keep in mind your 75 grain (or whatever) powder measure is a volume measurement and may or may not weigh 75 grains.

    Powder

Have you been reading my posts? :rotf: Actually, they like to go a long time without swabbing because they get gold stars on the board. :haha: Only reason I can think of. Speaking for myself I would much rather shoot than swab. YMMV

    Alliant black dot powder

I did a brief internet search last night, I found nothing posted newer than 2010, mostly saying it was coming and is another ascorbic acid baised powder like APP, shochy's gole etc. If this is the case I wouldn't get too excited unless they have figured out how to get past the storage issues. YMMV

The only gold involved is your gold going into Shockey's pocket. The stuff truely is worthless.

    Fowler kit

One more observation on double set triggers, they will disqualify you from most if not all smoothbore shoots. You may not participate now but if you ever attend a club shoot and want to shoot the smoothe you will be out of luck with set triggers.

    Hammer stalls

I have some however never use them, they are a little redundant when I leave the pan open and hammer down till on the firing line. I haven't had a flintlock in the woods for decades and just don't bother at the range.

    Bag Molds

Depends on how you want to use it. The bag mold will be OK for casting a handfull of balls but will not be as efficient as a modern style for large/long casting sessions. My opinion YMMV
