    which ramrod to buy

Hi . This is a thing that I have played with over the years and I keep going back to the solid brass rod. I put a 10/32 thread on one end and a 8/32 the other. One to take b/p fittings. The other to accept all the nitro fittings. With the brass solid and hollow rods I can do anything that needs...

    Lube addative: whaddya think??

Hi Adui. Try oil of wintergreen. It makes waxes, fats and oils water soluble. I think that when wiping out between shots that residue carbon comes out better on the damp rag. Flushing out at the end of the seems to be easier/ quicker? I would be glade to hear of others views on this habit of mine.

    Sharpening a razor

Hi all. This is a good topic. I have been told that the best strops are from Nth American Bison hide. There's something about the leather that makes them a much better strop. To that the old ones used a soap which I guess held the Al oxide that assisted in the final hone. The blade that I use...

    Crockett nipple removal?

Go to Deer Creek 765-525-6181 and they should have them instock. They are a special wrench alittle thinner that will fit nicely on the original nipple. If you have already replaced the one that came with the gun then you might be best suited to grind out the back of the flashwell. This Is what...

    Traditions Kentucky Rifle Cleaning Question

Two other things that I do. First is to take the barrel out and coat the barrel channel, tang area, and underneath all of the lock area, with a very thin layer of boat deck vanish. I cut the vanish with the solvent, thinners/water, that is required to make it super thin so that it sinks into...

I have bought many U/H kits and they all came with hardened hammers and triggers. I don't know where you got yours from. Not said in your post.I would contact the supplier and see if he would harden them after you have polished them up. It would nodoubt be quicker and easier to do it yourself if...
