So what is the big difference between using actual BP and pellets?
my local sportsman stores are ALWAYS sold out of regular BP or dont have it, and they always have pellets, and to be honest i really dont mind, but wat is the major diff bewteen the two? why do some people steer away from pellets other then wanting to be a 'traditionalist' and does it have an... -

normal/safe for someone who only has a percussion rifle to keep loaded without the cap for home def?
just curious, do people do this? is it safe/common/normal? obvoisuly without the caps cus that might be lil too dangerous, but without the caps for home defnese, it isnt hard to grab the caps and quickly put it on, but it will take sometime if nothing is loaded. what do yall think of it?- RAM117

Cleaning a BP revolver. learned one way, what are some other methods
since im new to BP im still learning , i have a friend who has BP revolvers and this is what he has done for years no problem, but im just wondering longterm is this fine? he takes it apart like u normally do then he just sprays the holy hell out out of with ballistol, then goes into cleaning... -

il go with BP over pellets, ima go with goex. thanks yall!, so if my BP booklet says 35 grain bp reccomended how much should i put in to have accuracy and power? 20 grains? 25 grains? 30 grains? -

really? so the booklet says maximum for BP is 35 grains, you would reccomend putting in only 20 for accuracy. i care for accuracy more for power. -

Buying a used black powder pistol
NJ is a backwards state when it comes to firearms and most other things. i believe you do need a FFL for this state...something even in california you dont have to do for a muzzleloader handgun if my memory serves me right. -

It is a 44 cal 1851 black powder revolver and 2 issues thats not in the manual mby yall can help. 1.so i want to use pyrodex pellets rather then actual black powder, seems cleaner and easier, in the manual it says for pyrodex data maximum load grain is 28 fffg, but it seems like all the 44cal... -
