Oh,SNAP! No. Really it snapped off

Guess i will be calling Kibler tomorrow morning. Have an appointment with a gunsmith welder too. But the part is so thin I'm not sure of how much it will cost. Then buying a burr to dremel it round again. Might be more trouble than it's worth for fixing, rather than replacing.

Oh,SNAP! No. Really it snapped off

I will call the welder that tigs. I don't trust that mig in my hands to spot that thin piece. It'll either look like a pile of buggers or melt away would be my luck. I'll update after the holiday weekend.

Oh,SNAP! No. Really it snapped off

Yes,Kibler. After looking at it for a bit. I just went in the house. Nothing to be done to it for now. I really didn't want to clock another breech plug and try to match the tang up. I feel I'll go the tig route first. If it jacks it up ill get another. Thanks for the ideas.

Oh,SNAP! No. Really it snapped off

What to do? Braze or tig? Throw it out the ahop door and walk away. Im just unlucky i guess. Knocked my SMR over at the range and cracked the nose of the stock. So i figured i would four a nose cap. Then scope creep sets in. I really didn't like the sanding and bleuing of the barrel so i would...

Two Feathers small custom ball bag

Once again Two Feathers made a fantastic addition to my kit. It's exactly what I wanted. Small ball bag with ears to hang it from my possibles bag or slim enough to fit inside. Thanks again Dave for doing such a wonderful job.

    Starting a Kentucky Pistol Project

Gotcha, just finished up my frontier pistol today. She has some flaws. But the precarved stock set the placement. It worked out but bought the second stock to put these parts on. But decided against it. Just buy new parts and build another with the new stock. It was good practice. And helps me...

Well, the new stock is a bit shorter than the first one that i purchased. Its only 10.5 inch barrel slotted. I measured the chunk i cut off the first one it's 2".

    Starting a Kentucky Pistol Project

That looks like you could get a pecatonica stock to fit that. I just purchased a second stock for mine. First stock was my practice one. Not horrible but definitely can do better than this one im doing now. Stock was 115 for the roughed in barrel - the tang , rr,and lock.

    Help with lock replacement

I purchased a used EIG sea service pistol. The lock is pretty crude, meh. But the frizzen is so hard to open that i went and bought another lock. Had a queen anne plate from a previous build. Its really close. Well to my eyes anyway. So i figure what better way to learn than work on it. Can...

What to do? How to fix?

Thanks all. I didn't notice this until i put the aqua fortis on it and some maple stain and was lightly going over it with steel wool. It snagged it. I'll

What to do? How to fix?

Finishing my kibler stock. This blemish is vexing me. How do i seal it or stop it from growing? I've tried to sand it flat, but the edge is growing. Still snags your finger when you brush across it. It grabs at anything rubbed across it too. Any help appreciated. Thanks again for all and any...

A little help with my kibler 58 build?

Watched the video for the umpteenth time. It fits together. And screw lines up to thread into the trigger plate. Guess im a little bit nervous about taking to much wood off. Thanks for the replies. I'll probably call tomorrow. Just to be safe. I am in Arizona and the humidity is only 24%.

A little help with my kibler 58 build?

Here are some photos. Seems like the screw hole is off and i haven't taken any wood off yet. Using candle black to see what is hitting. But as you see the back of the tang is seated and the screw hole is misaligned already. Thoughts?
