    Good, I dont rally plan on breaking 90gr very often if I wanted muzzle velocity I would be shooting a 22/250. This rifle is going to be shot for the pure enjoyment of the delay and large amount of smoke. If I hit what I'm aiming at thats icing on the cake.

    Thanks, Its not often I get to tinker around with gun powder. so far blaks are a blast, now I need to see what i can do at the range. I have a feeling adding lead will change things.

    Apparently, there have been some major issues with CVA inlines. Has anybody suffered a failure from there sidelock line? I kind of enjoy having my hand and face in tact.

    The best way to describe the etching, is a few shallow horizontal scratches cut across the frizzen. They look like they may have been put there with a dremmel tool.

    I have not found a good way to keep a sharp edge on my flint. If you read my other post you'll find out why. I would like to know some of your tricks as to avoid the learning curve.

    I recently bought my first blackpowder rifle, A used CVA plainsman. I noticed that the frizzen had been etched by the previous owner. I assume to create more spark.Will this dull my flints to fast? should I replace the frizzen? thanks Matt
