    Deer gods must hate me

I think the deer gods hated both of us Saturday. Still damp air, last light, 3 does @ 30 yards, sights on her shoulder, phssst.... bang no deer. I knew I should have picked up my cap lock. Damn.

    Poor inletting job

Be careful of using wood glue and shaving/saw dust as most wood glues will not take stain after they are dry - the glue is not porous. Find a Rockler or Woodcraft store or something of the like. There are some very good wood fillers that are tinted to match woods and these generally will...

    GPR flint question

I agree with 40 Flint. I just switch to RPierce flints in my TC Renegade - 5 to 10 shots bevel up, flip it 5 - 10 shots bevel down, then repeat. I'm getting at least 30 more shots per flint than I did with TC sawn 10 more than english knapped. I'm still using the same flint 40+ strikes, fired...

    T/C Good Deal?

I've been shooting TC rifles, Hawken and Renagade for about 25 years and will buy no other brand of production gun. The state of manufacture and TC's customer service is second to none, IMHO. As long and the barrel is bright and the lock and trigger functions smoothly, I'd say $249 was a good buy.

I have a TC hawken and a renagade with the old style lock. I called TC today and was told that the new lock was used with a scope? Don't see what difference it would make - not that I would mount a scope on a side lock not matter how bad my eyes get.

    Rifle Kits

    Rifle Kits

Hello All, I am new to this forum but not new to muzzleloading or rifle kit building. I've been shooting caps and rocks since 1983. My first kit was a TC Hawken, built at the same time. Now that I've past the half century mark and the kids are gone - well out of the house anyway - I have a...
