Wesson style rifle with brass receiver cast around the forged steel breech plug. There is no right angle from the nipple to the main charge, it is curved so a pipe cleaner can be used to clean that area. This was used in competition in the early 80’s. I do not know the twist rate. I have not fired this rifle. The bore is clean and a tightly patched ball of .451 showed no patch abrasion when pushed through with the barrel removed. I feel it is worn considerably however. There again, I have not fired this so I have no idea if it will perform well or not. The rear trigger must bet set in order to cock. To fire, set rear trigger then bring to half cock, place cap with a slim capper then bring to full cock and use front trigger. The mechanics, wood is excellent. Bluing is good with wear areas but no rust. Italian proofs both on the barrel and receiver. LOP 14 OAL 43 Barrel length 26 1/8 Across flats 13/16 Questions? Feel free to ask. I will remove the barrel for shipping purposes and include the hardwood receiver fixture and copper barrel protector unless told not to do so. $500 plus postage or will take $300 and a CVA Kentucky flintlock rifle with a bad bore but complete with good wood and functional as I have a new barrel for that.
