Got a couple of these years ago from TC. I had actually seen an OLD ad about them and emailed, and they still had some. Wish more companies would do things like this, although it occurs that if they made money off of it they probably would.

Brother Fred, the feral vibe coming from this river bottom is renewing my soul. The warm temps, and the full moon will not diminish the moment, and that moment is November in the bottoms I Squirrel hunted with my second hand single shot unmentionable, or my 22 caliber unmentionable. The ghosts of our kinsmen are still here, and still strong. The menu will be smoked meat and amber liquid. I feel 20 years younger. Any and all kills will be celebrated and revered. The only thing that could make this better is if my brother from another mother was here. We would toast the witching hour, and greet the damn from an ambush point in anticipation of providing for ours. The TRUE Illinois is calling your name for roll call FDH. She is commanding you to rejuvenate your feral soul, to return to the place of your youth where it all began. This i promise you my dear friend, YOU will share in this camp with my brothers and I, you WILL be welcomed as a feral kinsman. We will eat, drink and relish in the mother's feral calling. Snakebit, time will tell. I have alot of irons in the fire at this time.
My Feralism runs deep. It calls from time to time. While I my Florida woods there are times when that one Particular thing whether it's sight, sound, hearing or even smell, it comes out.
I will admit that after talking to you it's much strong these days. I've often thought about those fearl days as a kid in Illinois. It definitely calls on me. Time will tell.
It would be a great time to join you on the river bottom. We will what the next couple of years brings.

Well fellas, I finally was able to get out and search for a new place to squirrel hunt. Yesterday morning I went to a place I’ve never been to. Arrived there a little late, about 0830. Right away I noticed several squirrels in a relatively smaller area. Also as of note, I’ve never seen so many den tees in such a relatively smaller area. Whether they are all active or not remains to be seen.
I eased around there and shot 3 times. I missed all 3. I knew right away that something was wrong. However, I sat dawn for a while and all the squirrels had vanished before 10:00. Moved one more time and sat there for about an hour. I could see down through those woods for over 100 yards. The squirrels were gone. This is only about 1/4 mile from an active shooting range so I know the squirrels are used to hearing gunshots. Around 11:30 I finally came home.
After returning home, I test shot Mr. C and found that the peep aperture had slid down. POI from 25 yards was at least 1” low. That splained it. Made the adjustment and was confident again.
This morning the weather has changed for the worst. Rain early morning and high, gusty winds. I decided I would return there anyway knowing full well that I would be lucky to even see a squirrel unless I could work my way down into the drainage, which I did but the wind was still an issue. However, I was able to take that opportunity to drop down a ways and scout more.
On the way out I finally saw a very small squirrel sitting on a limb next to its den hole. Got a rest from a small tree and missed again? Stepped it off and it was 16 yards. I was puzzled at this. Working my way back I finally saw one squirrel on the side of a larger oak. It was a 21 yard shot and he fell. With this, I still didn’t know.
After returning home, I test shot from 16 yards On an uphill shot trying to duplicate that miss. I found, for whatever reason, I tended to hit a little low but not much. Put another target on my range on level ground and it’s right on the money. I do need to cover up most of the dot but that’s okay. I’d rather leave it like that anyway.
So, all in all, it appears as if I’ve found a halfway decent place to hunt again, finally. Absolute cruddy weather until after the weekend so I’ll most likely wait until next week to get back at it. However, I must admit that after about a 2 month streak of no squirrel hunting, it felt good to at least get that one squirrel.

Thanks but it’s not much. Still do not know exactly what happened there. My concern was that something might be a result of the new lenses implants. But it appears as if I have it figured out now.I see your pic now, sweet, success
All I need now is some good hunting weather. One thing I did notice while scouting that new area is the lack of hickory trees. Not a good thing but unless there’s more than what I was seeing, I’m having a difficult time understanding why so many squirrels are in that somewhat smaller area. My guess there are more hickory trees in there. I’ll pay more attention ext time I go in there. Hickory’s matters not the remaining of this year but are a general good indicator for next fall.

Been raining here in KY since before daylight. I absolutely like to squirrel hunt in light rain, but only if there is no wind to go along with it. The winds here are, and have been forecasted to be about 14 MPH gusting to over 25 MPH for the next few days.
With that said, the wind has calmed down a lot in the last hour or so and mostly just light rain. Now I wish I were back out there had I known this was going to happen. It was certainly rocking and rolling early this morning.
