By the way here's my Squirrel Hunting Dog. We will make out to the Slough and the WMAs this weekend plus Monday.
I'm giving my Crockett Rifle a rest for now. I will be using my Sweet little Brittany Double Barrel .410 Shotgun with #6 shot. I will post after the hunt.
I will not wear a Go-Pro if I can take a few pictures of the hunt I will. I'd love for y'all to see Henry the Slough Dog in action.
P.S. I did not teach or train the doy how to hunt squirrels, he taught me how to hunt squirrels with a 🐕

Best to all, and I mean All!

Guys, I have backed out of this thread for a bit. Regardless of who started this thread, how it got started, what information is put on thread, it's been a damn good thread. The only thing I don't like is when UNMENTIONABLES are posted here.
I've made some good friends here, I never dreamed I'd meet people over the internet/a fourm. I found this by searching for information on TRADITIONAL MUZZLELOADING GUNS, be it PRBs, Smoothbores, Shotguns, Custom or contemporary. Build assemble store bought or whatever.
We've talked about squirrels in every region of this GREAT COUNTRY AND AROUND THE WORLD. Fishing, rocks ,trees mushrooms, health issues , squirrel dogs vs mutts, different loads, different set up. Jokes Gabbs. Come on we are grown men not freaking you girls for God's Sake LET IT EAT.
What wokes for some folks may not work for other! Simple. Do we all cook the same? Do we all dress the same? Do we all make love the same? He!! No we don't and I thank God we don't.
I can't take it any longer. To sit here and watch WEDGES BE DRIVEN BETWEEN FRIENDS THAT HAVE BONDED TOGETHER BECAUSE OF THIS THREAD IS WRONG!!! I am not going to do that no F'ing longer. If pi$$ someone off because of so be it but it's gotta stop now.
If'n ya don't like it don't click on it andcread it. I'm mean come on, the Government dictates us to much, do we really need Is a tyrannical thread?

I'm done for now.

DOWN IN THERE!
Well said brother Fred!👍

I think a good game camera picture works good for that. Ad how many squirrels your seeing and the Camera data? Post it to your Facebook with even a description of the day.. you can even walk past the camera if your out there and use the picture of you.

I use my Facebook to track that.. I post when I get them. So I have time date etc.. then they come back up as memory's from the past.

Not saying change this. Just saying that's what I do for that.
I don’t do Facebook, but thanks for the suggestion. Also, I get more pictures of squirrels on my trail cams than I like. It really provides nothing of use, in terms of hunting them.

That's OK.

It just gave me the idea. That I haven't been walking past that to do that.
Like I can pose with the dog rabbit and all.. etc etc etc

I might hide a camera at the places i pheasant hunting place I go.. just to get a daily hunting picture. I might put it up high to catch the stocking truck.

No you don't sit out there ands type a story to go with it.. you can add that edit it in. Anytime when you have time.

It's kinda easy.

I got questions to bother you..

Like how come you guys got No Club. No association or organization federation.

Like pheasants forever? Just an example.

Or is there and I'm just not finding them?

Not to be off topic.. it's the same with rabbit. I've been trying to find a rabbit association with a new England chapter. Or somtin.

I'd be a member.

Yep, we have our own. 😁

You almost do..

Start sharing land and hunting between everyone.. buy leases together. Search out members for membership.

Club houses. I'd throw a deck of cards at that one and call it a good place to stay somewhere squirrel hunting.

Magazine.. club store. Videos.

Well said brother Fred!👍
Thanks Tom.
I just want to say this was/is a blanket statement. Not directed at any one individual. We know who's who in the zoo. I don't care how long a post is but to continually beat a dead Horse one post after another is a bit much.
I feel we've all learned from this thread, if'n it's dead subject or just a personal thing stop blasting this thread or any other thread. Different subjects here and there are cool acutely, it gets my mind thinking. But same stuff worded differently one after another 👀❓

We use to do that hunting deer on hunting trips down south.
I'll keep it short. It was good we all put in a little money and they cook it with everything to go with it.

That Good one. 👍

That's still on my topic on a Club house. Cards. Hunting

Now you post a pig roast.

Do I know you?
Here's an off the topic thing.
There is a 70# pig in each one of these boxes. Cooked in about 4 hours .
The General Contractor is taking care of us.

What they do to trap them back on the day..
Like old school traps.

Not the metal box.

Would they have back then big rat traps and use somthing like that.

Hows that one? I would post that on my thread but it is about squirrel.

I don't think I'd be rich enough to shoot them all back then.

More like traps someone would make back then.. not modern. Somthing fun to Make and set and use.

Lean a straight tree branch up against a tree, with series of nooses made out of piano wire anout 12 to 16 inches apart and the being a few inches above the branch . Squirrels are like water and electric, they take the path of lest Is resistance. They'll hang their selves.
I would not do this unless I needed the protein.

Reading this.. it looks fun. I might try to design somthing primitive.

I thinking somting like this big enough for its head.. using a good size log.

Is that legal ??

Drill the holes so that after I can pull them out after. So it's not stuck in there and won't come out.

Here is a prime example Trigger.
You asked about trapping squirrels, I replied an option. But it's time to let go.
This thread is about hunting squirrels with Traditional Muzzleloaders. So we need not to flood it with modern traps or trapping in general.

ETipp was out on one of his Is exploratory hunting trips, looking for a new and good place to hunt. In his adventures he came across some really unique boulders he to some pictures and posted them, he even made it clear it was a bit off topic. I Guarantee ya everyone appreciated and enjoyed see them and was glad ETipp post said pictures. We all made commits about them thanked ETipp for posting them, and moved on with the Squirrel Hunting Thread.
