I've been slowly but diligently working on my wife by throwing out clues as to me getting a squirrel dog. Every time I do, I get a mean look that would have put ole Davy Crockett a running away in fear. This calls for some major thought and strategic planning on my behalf. I don't give up easily. May the force be with me because I foresee a long and drawn out battle ahead. :)
If you bring one home Ed, she’ll melt. Nobody can resist a puppy😁

To address the question posed, it appeared to be a humorous yet relevant subject, but I did wonder whether it might trigger another issue over here. I would be apprehensive about posting a message like yours, as wonder if they might potentially ban me.

I don't think I've ounce been like that. I apologize if I have and I guess sorry for flooding your thread.
Stop flooding this thread with your AI generated posts. Even on Christmas day. You were bad enough before. Now you come back as basically a bot. What in the world is wrong with you?

Ignore list. :)
The AI, I think, reads better than what I type out, and it's all spelled correctly. I think it reads better. I can just post the text and utilize the AI feature to correct everything, making it easy to copy and paste.

I'll try to limit to one post I could have edited all of that into the one. Sorry bud.

Other than that just have some fun this Christmas enjoy yourselves. It's funny. Merry Christmas squirrels hunters.

Some days you are the plug, some days you’re the socket..

Guys, I'm sure the majority of you if not all of you see that Fred is not the best at proper grammar, spelling etc... English was hard for me, possibly a fact in making me so defensive in like. I worked construction for the past 40 years. Proper English was not necessarily required. But it does make a difference. People look at you differently. I'm very experienced in my trade. That's why I was approached 25 years ago to start running crews. Now a days I must deal with Emails, Daily Reports, Written Plans of Action. God forbidd an injury report. Plus this computer crap. I had no other choice but nut up and handle it. If y'all would have saw how my English was 10 years ago.... well I'll just leave it at that.
I thank all of you , because joining the forum and building up the courage to Post has helped me. I will continue to improve, I k ow I will.

The damn thing I WILL NOT DO IS USE AN AI DEVICE TO WRITE FOR ME, ILL FACE HUMILIATION FIRST AND LEAN FROM IT..
I apologize for this but I can't take it any longer. I'd rather read someone's butchered up English from the heart than an AI generated whatever.. .

MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

may we all be blessed and and have some Successful Squirrel Hunts.

As far Squirrel Hunting goes. I was off five days and was able to get out there.
Some days were kinda windy and chilly. The squirrel in my little hunting spot are coming out right a day break, still hard to kinda see . About an hour or a little more and their gone until about an hour or a little more until dark.
Most of the little critters were off in the distance. I did 2 or 3 with in range but they didn't sit still. They were up high in the trees. Most of the leaves are still on the oaks and high percentage of the hickories.
I went solo a few times and Ole Slough Dog a couple times. The boy did get ahead of me and Started barking, but by the time I made to him it no good the squirrels were on the move. His bark changes from Bark... Bark... Bark while the squirrel is treed. When they make a break for it running from tree top to tree top it more like Yap bark, yap bark, yap bark.
I did enjoy being out, and I will hit the woods this weekend to try for a deer on a WMA, last day for deer on this wma is December 29th. Over the 2 days off for New Years I will be squirrel hunting 100%.

Thank you.
Another thing I like about this thread is that anyone of us would and will do what we can to help each other with any advice we have. Hunting or otherwise.

I headed out yesterday up to public land. It was nice, because deer gun season is over. So there weren’t very many people. It was around 25 degrees and calm. I saw about a half dozen squirrels, but they were very skittish. As soon as I tried to get into a position to take a shot, they skidaddled to their dens. It was nice to be out in the woods though.
Merry Christmas to everyone!

I just got in from another short hunt myself. Basically the same thing you experienced. It’s a difficult time to hunt now. It’s anyone’s guess as to when the squirrels will be out. They are also very spookie.

Earlier this year, my son and I went to look at a boat that he eventually bought. While we were there the seller had a young shepherd mixed dog. The dog took to me and my son. We eventually bought the boat, with one stipulation.. the dog had to come with us. Needless to say the boss was not happy with this. Well, fast forward a few months and guess who keeps my side of the bed warm? Yep… I’ve been replaced by ol Bandit 😂

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all regardless of your religious bent.

A few neighborhood squirrels are out today. Cool damp cloudy weather without much wind. How do we figure them out?
If you ever do figure them out please let us know.

Is there a storm front moving in soon?
