does any one know if green mountain or any one can build me a 32 cal barrel for my cherokee . or better yet have a factory one for sale?

While GM makes drop-in barrels including 32 cal for TC's, they're all 15/16" or 1" for the Renegade or Hawken.

The only thing "close" I've seen is that The Gun Works in Oregon and a couple of other sources sell breeches for Cherokee and Seneca barrels. It would be a custom build, but that opens the door to building one yourself or having one built by a smith.

Both Track of the Wolf and Cains, will build you a barrel. Have to contact them for current prices. What's wrong with the barrel you have?

The first person I would call is Bobby Hoyt.
He also makes .32 barrels and can do any twist you want.

i have two 45 cal barrels for my. the one that was on it when i bought the gun was in bad shape . the guy was useing a steel ram rod and wore the riflings on the end of the barrel pretty bad plus it mut hsve set unclean for long periods of time. and he also drilled and tap the top of the barrel for scope mounts and it wasnt well done at that. any way i lucked up and found a unfired 45 cal barrel at a pawn shop. now i am wanting a 32 cal to go with it for small game hunting . also wondering what i should do with the old barrel. bore it out to a smooth bore , re rifle it to a larger cal . or take parts and build a 32 cal barrel ?

I think that gun has a 13/16th barrel I guess you could go to a 50 cal provided the screw holes and wedge pin slot etc...is not too deeply cut, get out the calipers. My concern is that if you go to say a 50 cal rifle or smoothbore will the recoil crack that thinner stock? I am not a gun builder but someone here could answer that question.

The Cherokee has a slim and fragile stock. I'd definitely not go to .50 in that rifle. OTOH, .32 is about ideal and .36, if you're having a custom barrel built, would be very good too.

Going with a custom built barrel will cost you a little less since you already have parts that can be taken off the old barrel. ie: sights, under rib, tang & etc. Having all those parts I'd guess would save you a $100 or more. Go with a 36 I think you will like it.

I'm wonderin' if the .45 bbl can be lined to .32 cal, like some old metallic rifle bbls are relined to .22RF, or whatever.

.

boker,
Check out the Muzzleloader for sale on Graybeard outdoors. .32 caliber Flintlock barrel, you should read the ad. I have bought from 30HERRIT and he is very knowledable on T/C firearms. At least contact him, he lives near the old T/C factory and bought a lot of their percussion and flintlock barrels and rifles as they were closing out some of them.

i was looking on GM website and i can't find the .32 cal. drop in barrels for T/C with 15/16 flats.

where are you looking to find that?

GM does not offer finished barrels, i.e. drop in barrels, for the seneca or cherokee, i have called and asked twice before. you have to get the 13/16 barrel and build it up yourself, hopefully using the hardware from your bad 45 barrel. or you can order one from track of the wolf, and have them build it up for you. you can often find the 45 barrels on auction sites even ebay, but the 32 and 36 barrels bring much higher prices.

found them on thegunworks.com oregon drop in barrels up to 35" you state length, ROT, and what gun its going on and they either have it or make it, the only thing is it doesnt come wwith sights or a ramrod but all dove tails are cut. $250 last time i checked. from what ive been seeing for a custom barrel this ,to me, aint a bad price.
