People play everything in the movies and on stage. It has nothing to do with their real life - it's pretend!

You really don't expect an actor to only take roles they identify with, do you? Who would play Hitler, killers, child-molestors, etc.?

I may despise their real world politics, but I separate that from their character in a film.
:m2c:

I say focus on and contain the criminals if you want to reduce crime.

You're absolutely right.

Not that long ago, we hung you if you stole a horse. Why? Because a meaningful deterrent was important. Today, you can kill somebody and be out in a few years. That says a lot about how our society has changed. :boohoo:

You're right, especially if you're a perverted pedophile that has a history of snatching kids and dong terrible things to them.

If one dares to see if there are those type of perverts in your neighborhood, the ACLU gets real upset and vicious.

Something about their privacy, that it's unfair, or they may feel bad.

Only in America!!!!

Do you think the terrorist are sometimes laughin' their a**es off at us? :hmm:

I don't own a $3000 .50BMG and at around $4.00 per shot, I couldn't afford to shoot it if I did, but this new law is just one more (of many) reason I will never move to California. :curse:

You could cut the cost by loading up .50 caliber roundballs in the cases...

Yeah! A .50BMG black powder muzzleloader!
Jim

It would never work! Someone from the Builders' section would factor z+y-br549 and decide the wall thickness of the BMG was not sufficient for the 150 grain 4f charge!

Yeah! A .50BMG black powder muzzleloader!

So Ghost, does this mean you won't be the first to pull the trigger?

Yep, the infamous "Hee-Haw Pressure Formula" would definitely have to come into play!

You have it all wrong! everybody knows that the twist rate in a .50bmg barrel is way to fast for round ball.
Lehigh...

But dont LEE and Rapine make stock moulds that would work in a 50 BMG case? bet it would be fun to play with a 50 BMG conical, weight would be what, 800 grains?

Well, someone has to do it. ::
Besides, its ((z+y-br549)/y+z+br548)/(br547(1/y e-2)) that says the barrel is too thin.

FYI...this whole .50cal issue was covered tonight as a special on the "60 Minutes" program

Naw, no rifling. How about a .50BMG smoothbore musket, flintlock.
Jim

So, what did the left wing, Liberal media have to say about them?

It started with the California passing of the .50cal ban, and the piece was devoted to the typical discussion points AND DEMOS of the destructive power of it, that it should be limited to the military only, the absolute lack of any need for it by regular civilians, therefore they should not be allowed to have them, and the Democrats are starting a movement to get it banned in all states.

They played on the emotion and fears that "what if a terrorist got one"...due to it's range, they could stand off a lot farther away and use them (with illegal armor piercing, incindary, explosive bullets) to disrupt power plants, oil refineries, etc.

Whew...I know I'll rest better knowing once they're all banned that a terrorist won't be able to buy one.
:curse:

I'm sure a terrorist would rather have something bigger, like a nuke...

The use Kamikaze tactics with airplanes and take out thousands, so a .50 caliber rifle is small potatoes...

Was watching "COPS" on tv last night and the cop , as he was driving along , was explaining to the camera how Calif.
was the only state to ban .50s and that all the other states
should do the same. I've heard there is already a new 50 cartridge that's slightly shorter than a 50 bmg but velocity is about the same and gets around the ban.
