I shoot 54 smooth bore flint. Hunt deer and turkey. Round ball for deer and 4 shot for turkey. Inside of 70 yards deer is DRT. 28 gauge is underpowered for turkey and you have to get close which is fine by me. A 62 smooth equals 20 gauge which gives you more range.
