Ok folks, if your squeamish at all do not view this video. It contains the death of a bear. So you have been warned before viewing.

This is a 14 yard shot taken over bait using a custom .58 I built for my uncle just for this hunt. The load was a .570 ball on top of 100gr of 3F. The ball went through both shoulder/lungs and exited. The bear dressed out at 150 lbs.The hunt took place in New Brunswick where they go every year normally with bow. I talked him into doing it with a flintlock.

 Nothing wrong with that!.......good clean (&quick) kill, and you don't have to go looking for it. :hatsoff:

Excellent!

Did you have the camera mounted or was someone holding it? Looks like someone was holding it because it was moving around slightly, but I don't know how you could hold it and not jump when that .58 fired right next to you.

No, the mount it was on was screwed into the tree. He was dealing with a bit of wind while he was up there. I have footage of another bear that came in earlier in the week he took of and the tree was moving pretty good lol.

Excellent video!

I wish he'd left the camera rolling longer.

That bruiser didn't now what hit'em.
