My gosh yes! 60 grains will shoot a .490 PRB completely through a deer and kill the one standing behind it, so 70 grains will not be a problem. Keep yer powder dry.......robin :wink: :grin:

It is actually a tighter group with 60, I guess that this would still be a good powder charge from what I have read

I'd go with the tighter group. The lighter mass of your .490 will give it a faster muzzle velocity than I get with my .530 even with my 10 grains more powder. My .530 has only a little bit more lead...the equivalent of a .22 LR slug's worth, than your.490.

You will be fine.
