On the right side of the screen, under the section where you add it to your cart, are two paragraphs. One tells you that if you live in certain states you have to buy it through the gun department and the next one says if you are interested in the case, it will give you the details you need.

Maby I am going blind but for the life of me I cant seem to find any info about the free display case.
The gun isd a deal as it is but the display case sweetenes it up but I just cant find any reference to it.

Well, today is the last day of the sale, so if you want one you better hurry. Still a good deal even without the case. Mine that i got a few days ago is a real good shooter.

I couldn't find the display case either but I just recieved confirmation that the case was on back order and I would recieve it around 01/10/2010.

I didn't even ask about the case when i ordered mine but it came today. I received the revolver Monday. Great shooter for the money.

I think it just comes with the case.
When I bought mine the free case bonus just showed up on the cash register screen. My guess is that it is automatically given or sent to you.

Have you shot yours yet? If so, what do you think?

No I haven't. I still have to pick up balls and will most likely wait till the temp warms up a little.

I haven't shot BP for years, so I am kinda excited to get out to the range with it.

They sent me a box with the 1860 I just got. It was sent automatically, I didn't check the coupon box or whatever, I never noticed it. It is made in China, but perfectly serviceable. Good for keeping your pistols dust free. I can get the 1860 AND my Dragoon in the box (barely). The top of the lid is made of what appears to be ash, the sides/bottom of a really soft wood of some kind. Looks fine. Don't matter, it was free! It has a gray soft rubber bottom so it won't slide around on the counter.

Still haven't shot either of these guns yet. Haven't made up any balls, and I'm still waitin' on good nipples for the Dragoon. (The Uberti guns may be nicer than the Piettas, but they are known universally for having lousy nipples, while the Pietta nipples ain't all that bad. The Dragoon's nipples are very undersized, and a Rem. #10 cap simply rattles around on it and falls off.) I should get the new nipples any day now...

I have a bunch of Wano powder that I don't like shooting in rifles because it is FILTHY (it is unsifted, and probably much more like period 18th century powder). Maybe it won't be such a problem in a revolver.

good luck with it. I ordered one when i was 14-15 and the first one fell apart in my hand one evening. Cabelas send me 3 replacements before they let me pick out something else.

Pietta quality has greatly increased in the intervening years.

Speaking of the cases, I ordered my 1851 Navy a couple of weeks ago, on a Friday. I live in Kentucky and received the case on the following Tuesday--out of West Va. The gun arrived 2 days later from Neb. I must have just slipped in under the back-order wire. The case is quite nice.

Ash, that's what it is. I knew it wasn't oak or poplar but I just couldn't quite place it.

Well I drove out to the Hamburg PA Cabelas on 12/18 and they were out of stock but the clerk put me on the list and said I would get it for the sale price.
Cabelas called yesterday afternoon and said my pistol was waiting for me. Went out last night and got it. The pickup desk clerk said "No Display Box comes with it" I fussed a little and then she said it is out of stock in the wharehouse.
I guess I will wait a whyle till mid January and see if it comes
My wife and daughter were with me and they got incredable deals on Goose Down coats. Whyle they were shopping I went to the bargan cave and found a returned Navy .44-bargan cave price $75...wooo weee I went home with my new one and the bargan cave special which will be a Christmas gift for my buddy.

My pair of revolvers arrived this afternoon and I just finished cleaning them up. I am very impressed. The bluing is well applied. The grips fit pretty well, better than many I've seen, and the wood has some decent figure. The rifling is clear and bright, no tool chattering. The wedge came out easily as did the nipples. The action feels solid and locks up tightly. In fact it compares very well with my Uberti 1860 Army.

I won't have a chance to get to the range any time soon. The area just got a record snowstorm and there's a chance for ice this weekend. Ah well, I'll get there eventually.

The cases are back ordered and will get here some time next month, I hope.

If these shoot any where near as good as they were made, they will be a heck of a bargain. For 99 bucks I am really impressed.

Regards, Jeff

I managed to get out with the one i got last week today for a little shooting between rain storms. Did some plinking around with it with the first 6 shots then loaded 3 chambers with 20 grs of Goex 3f and 20 grs of Cream of wheat for a filler and resting over the hood of my Bronco II at 20 yds all 3 shots went into a group just 1" center to center with 2 shots cutting the same hole. I don't think you could ask for more for $99.99. The reason i only loaded 3 is because it was starting to rain again.

Arrrrgh! Rebel, you just had to tell me that these things are good shooters when I can't get to the range! :( Thanks a lot!

Actually, real thanks for sending the loading info. It will give me a good starting point.

I hope others have good luck with theirs.

Jeff

Your welcome i'm sure. :haha: Another thing that surprised me was it was only about 4" high with that load. It is right on for elevation with 27 grs of Goex.
