You’re right, put simply a wad/patch punch is straight on the inside whereas a hole punch is straight on the outside.
A distinction that is lost on most of today’s hardware stores>

I am very curious about the case for the pistols. Could you take a picture of the top of the case and an edge picture of how the radiused corners are made.
That is a wonderful set with all the accoutrements in the case.

The Case is made of wood and covered with leather.
Lined in raw leather.
Unfortunately, the case is no longer in the best condition.
But he has protected the pistols for the last 170 years.
But it still looks good in the showcase, so i will leave him as is.
