Well I made it to the 2004 NMLRA Rendezvous, only to return with the memories of my first mistake(s)

I went in on Friday evening to get clothing so I could attend at will, only to ask the lady there after my purchases....(do you have a bag). Needless to say everyone in the place started laughing and looking at me saying..."yep, here come the flatlanders"...

On Saturday morning, all decked out and making my trek through the site, a fellow comes up behind me, taps me on the shoulders saying..."hey Minnie, you still got the price tag hanging on your sash"....geeessshhhhh what else... :curse:

On Sunday morning, after my breakfast and dressed again for the trek around, I looked in the mirrow and the first thing I saw was my gold necklace that I have worn around my neck for around 30 years still dangling.....dang it....off it came before someone else pointed my stupidity out..... :nono: :nono: :what:  :sorry:

All in all, I have one of the most wonderful times ever, learned a lot, purchased a lot, and came back ready to make and acquire things so I can attend at least the one next year in Pa.

Thanks for all of the forums help and insight, it sure made my trip worth while..

Bowjock,

What a fantastic attitude you have.

Your willingness to share your experience is commendable. You set a fine example and we can all learn from your honesty. :applause:

Stumpy, if it has a skid mark it is not a dew rag!!!

Bowjack, the year is still young!!! there are still events to hit before the winter closes in!! Don't give up now!!

You arn't really a reenactor until you've frozen you butt off for at least one fall evening.

There's the traditional trip you always take too late in the fall, only to be outdone by the trip you plan too early in the spring!

You have to learn to do these things right!

I've frozen in June, smothered in Janurary, been chased out of my tent by a flooding Ohio River, been chased out of camp by wild boros, lost all of my food in canoe wrecks, blown up cars on the way to events and blown up trucks on the way back.

I'm a slow learner, I keep going back! You probably will too!

bowjock,
good for you!! a lesser person may have got p/o
packed up and left after your experience. glad you hung in there.

snake-eyes :RO:  :) :peace:

You're a better man than I am. My uncle and I show up @ Friendship in Levis. We gawk, buy parts & books & knives & other goodies & scarf food, & chew the fat with our classmates and instructors. :p

so I can attend at least the one next year in Pa.

Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. there sure isn't nothing like a good weekend at a voo. Wish I had more time to go.

Where is the one in Pa. located at? and when?
