Would love to participate but as a lone person, from the other side of the county and no affiliation with a NSSA team, I see no way in as per the rules should I just show up in an RV with all equipment at hand....muskets, leathers, uniform...

The N-SSA was founded as a team endeavor. The very first skirmish was between two teams, and it grew from there.

A couple of years ago the N-SSA started allowing Individual memberships. As an individual you can shoot in individual competition and/or as a pickup on a team that needs shooters. But you still have to join a team after a year.

My neighbor recruited me last week to go to the Last Chance in Capron, VA on November 3, I am excited about that so much so that I just bought a Navy Arms Zoave this week. I won't be shooting on the 3rd, I am just going to look it over, but in my mind I am already committed. Lord willing I will be out there in the spring of '25

Awesome!

I've been doing it for 12 years now. It's a hoot! I love the combination of "individual" competition where you shoot at paper targets in a particular gun and range category of your choice, and I love the team competition where you work as a team to blast away at breakable targets and beat the clock.
