Accuracy of GPR vs. Custom gun?

I would add my voice to those in favor of the GPR. I have a 54-cal GPR flinter and a 54-cal percussion custom. The custom barrel is more accurate, but only very slightly so. It shoots maybe an inch better at 50 yards.

That's important to the target guys. But to see that inch of better accuracy I have to be on a good bench using my Sinclair heavy duty front rest and sand-filled Protector rear bag. (And I have to lay off the coffee.)

So unless you are going to carry competition quality rests in the truck I don't think you would ever notice any difference in accuracy. Without that gear I certainly can't shoot well enough to tell the difference.
