Antique mystery lock, missing some parts. Lockplate is about 4 1/4" long. Marked with what appears to be a stylized "M" followed by "1770." Pan looks more early 19th century to me, and the frizzen is grooved. Lots of engraving. I'm not sure its origin; maybe Middle Eastern? Maybe Eastern Europe? I got it in a bag of random parts I traded some unmentionable accessories for. The guy I got it from got it in a trade with someone else. I know nothing more about it.
it retains:
lockplate
pan
Tumbler
Cock
Jaw screw
Tumbler bridle
Sear bolt
Sear
Frizzen
Frizzen bolt
Frizzen spring
I thought about trying to restore it and get it sparking for possible use on a pistol build, but it's beyond my abilities and time capabilities at present. Good for a lock collection!
Asking$95 $60 shipped for it within the CONUS. PM if interested. Thanks for looking!
