Stumbled onto a Antonio Zoli made Hawken rifle...
Will a TC hawken barrel fit this zoli stock?

Randy,

The barrel is non existant! MIA!

Something I saw on ebay and was wondering what would fit.
I have a "never been shot" TC 50 on a hawken I built that I wasnt going to use as I was going to put a .40 GM barrel on the tc, looking for a home to put the 50 on.

Sounds Italian, so it's probably channelled for a 15/16" octagon barrel, not the 1" found on some (most?) TC Hawkens.

And there are several other things that may be different between a TC rifle and an Italian-made one.

TC uses a unique patent bolster that is not made to mate with other manufacturers' lockplate (and the hammer might not line up with the nipple anyway). So you might need to put a TC lock on it, which the stock is not inlet for.

The breech hook on a TC Hawken is designed to work with a TC tang. It might not fit properly into the hook hole on an imported tang. And, again, swapping it out for a TC one may take more inletting and filling.

The underlug on your barrel might be in the wrong place for the wedge key hole on the Italian stock.

Also, unless the rib is the same thickness, the ramrod thimbles might not line up with the tube.

All of these can probably be overcome through new parts and shop work, but I wouldn't count on it being a drop-in fit.

Most T/C Hawkens are 15/16ths across the flats. There were some made in 1 inch, but they are not as common and were the large bore. I believe that they were available in .54 and possibly .58. The Renegade is also 1 inch.
