Anybody in NY know where to find black powder?

Anybody located in NY state know where you can purchase real blackpowder? Having zero luck finding a single retailer in the entire state or even the bordering areas of PA.

None that I am aware of. I buy from www.powderinc.com

I am told NY law requires blackpowder be stored in a secure building/structure that does not have public access and is seperate from the store. Zero retailers are interested in doing that for the "kooks" that don't even buy accessories and expensive scopes/projectiles/primers afterwards.

yeah I am finding this out real quick. Several uninformed employees of retailers that formerly sold BP went so far as to claim BP "is illegal". ....facepalm

I guess its either make a long drive or bite the bullet and pay a hazmat fee for a bulk order.

There was a place on SR 32, North of Saugerties where I bought black 2 years ago. Have ordered from Powder Inc, since then. Its a regular gunshop, look em' up.

Well that is a bit far to go to the gunshops I go to in PA to get blackpowder. Looks like mail order is your best bet.

You could try to get with some others in your area and do a group buy and ship.

I buy mine from Powder Inc. also. Easily done,and delivered right to your door.Even with the hazmat fee it will be cheaper than most retailers,if you can find any.

I also buy my real black from powder inc. Good company and you can get 5# lots but 10 is far cheaper as the hazmat fee is the same whether its 1# or 25# therefore the more you buy the cheaper it gets. FRJ

I'm in upstate NY too.Just find a friend to split with you and order 5 lbs from graf's.You get a choice of different brands to try,and even with the hazmat fee its still way cheaper than using subs.You must have someone over 18 to sign for it at home is the only problem with shipping to NY.
Oh yea they will ship as little as 1 lb,just doesn't seem to hurt as much when spread over 5.
