Several years ago my gun room was a "heap of arms." I rectified that a great deal by building 5 rifle racks to go along with the safe. Now I'm running out of room again....

Anyone build their own? Care to share some pics for idea sharing?

I do woodworking in my home shop. There are several sources for plans, many free, for all kinds of wood working projects. Just do some Googling and you will find them. You might have to try several word phrasings but you will find what you need. I recently built a rifle vise from free plans.

Made it from scrap wood I had. Stained with Gunstock color stain.

I don't have a huge collection, but did make this display out of eastern red cedar and a little left over persimmon I cut down a few years ago. Hangs on a French cleat in the den.

There's so many others that have been posted, I wasn't sure if you were talking about my display. If you are, then sorry to say I don't have any plans for it, but maybe could help you with making one. It's actually pretty simple. PM me.

I like yours a lot! Put my name in your will for those swords! .

Ditto! I want the pistol rig on the right.

Aramkiller, gmww: Thanks for the compliments, but sorry boys. This all stays in the family. The Navy Officer sword, pistol rig, and a couple others were Dad's.

What is the wood used for the drawers? Love the color and grain.

Thought you might like a closer look at the swords. The samurai is a WWII factory sword that was captured on Okinawa, I think. It's nothing special as samurai's go. If it were a true antique samurai, I'd have it insured and only a select few would know about it. But it does have some sentimental value for me.

Persimmon. A neighbor had a big one blow down a few years back, and I salvaged some of it. Just about all gone now. Persimmon is in the same family as ebony, and a big tree will have a few inches diameter of jet black heart wood. Unfortunately, the carpenter ants got to most of it before I did.
