Well the apple crop is great this year so I have lots of cider. The grape crop is good as well so I will have lots of grape cider. I just bottled up the last of last years ciders. It is easy to see why so many of the colonists had their cider jugs handy. My favotite recipe is three quarts of live cider one quart of live grape juice , and 1/2 cup honey. (Live means not pasturised, so that the natural yeasts are live! ) Apple jack is made by letting the cider ferment in the lack of oxygen, then when done fermenting let freeze and pour off the unfrozen liguid in the center of the keg.As Goldie Hawn says : " Good Stuff"

I love apple pie with a slice of sharp cheddar and link sausage for breakfast washed down with a slug of cider. :v

let a jug of cider sit on the window sill until it gets kind of bubbly and half sour. Pan fry some pork chops and just after the chops are seared on both sides add just enough bubbly cider to the pan to barely cover the chops and then turn down the heat annd let them simmer 30 minutes at very low heat. The cider turns thick and glazes the chops with that sweet part sour cider taste, Hmmmm!
