I am going to Artillery School at the end of October. Put on by Loyal Train Cadre. I was wondering if any of you had heard of them. They are out of Bastrop, Texas.

I went to a artillary school in Ft Richardson in Jacksbore TX, AWESOME TIME and AWESOME class and shooting

Never heard of Loyal Train Cadre. Nothing came up when I googled them. Suggest you google artillery and any personal names affilated with this group. Are they charging you anything for this school?

Russian 'Man, this is exactly where I will be going. Probably the same group. I'm glad someone knows of it. I don't think I want to sign up for Ft. Sill at this stage of my life just so I can be safe at reenactment.
The fee is $20.00 and we will be fed. If you look at the Cannon Disasters thread, it would seem to be a good idea for a newbie to get some sort of formalized training. Perhaps some of the folks from that thread would still be alive and whole had they attended some sort of training.

I have a little more information now. The event will be hosted by the U.S. Field Artillery Association. This puts me much more at ease.

My Son just arrived there, he is all keyed to shoot the big guns. Will probably go straight to Afghanistan from there. Would be cool if he got a chance to see the front stuffers at work.
