Several of you have remarked that drilling a hole through the blade is very difficult.I don't know if this will work because I have never tried it, but I read in a blacksmithing book several years ago that if you heat the spot that you are trying to drill to a red heat, put a small dab of sulfur on that spot, and then let it sit until cool, that the drill will go through without hesitation.Of course you would need to use a heat sink between the tang and blade to keep from removing the temper.You might try this on a scrap piece, and see if it does work.
