In the past 35 years I've used a little bit of everything as hog bait. I've found that just plain ol' shelled corn (what we call deer corn) works about as good as anything.

I'll spread a whole 50 pound sack over a large area. I use a 3 pound coffee can, the plastic ones work very well, to scatter the corn. Just fill the can and throw the corn as far as you can. The hogs usually find the corn the first night. When it's scattered in a large area the hogs stay long enough to get every kernel.

I have harvested several hogs down here in Florida. The easiest way and least time consuming is to set up a battery operated bucket feeder and fill it with good ol corn. You set the time on the feeder to go off around sunrise and just before sunset. You show up about 30-60 minutes before it goes off. They will over a fews days find your feeder and learn when it goes off. They will start showing up just minutes before it goes off or come running into the feeder at the sound of the feeder going off. It almost like they set their watches for it. Just hunt down wind of your feeder and the trail(s) they are using to get to your feeder.
