Thanks,I made the hammer yesterday,I am unable to hit the ball starter with my hand"elbow problems"so I improvised.

What's a ball board?

Don

You see that board up there with the patched balls in it? That's a ball board.

You drop your powder charge and sit the board over the muzzle, Give the prepatched ball a rap with the short starter to start it and push it the rest of the way down with the loading stick.

Real handy!

Greeting Skunkskinner,

be carefull I think ol' Brett Sr is trying to talk to you out of your "Brand New" hammer too,

ps great looking board

That is a kind offer in deed. Mighty nice ball board. If Brett doesn't want it, I sure could use it.

Oh Brett's not wanting, merely admiring and complimenting the hammer! I make ball blocks as well, give em, trade em ect.I make a lot of stuff just because, and to see if I can do it!.

...the ball block isnt being spoken for from me!
....but think about the great generousity of this, and if others followed suit!

I take my hat off to "SkunkSkinner"
:hatsoff:

I used walnut.I am looking for Hard woods with knots in them, the grain of a knot looks good in my way of thinking.

RC,that would depend on what size rifle bore you are putting the patched 595 in.
