Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
1:5, 1:6 cuts the gunk very well.
Rifles, I squirt some down the barrel while cleaning the lock. Then use water and patches.
Only time I use Ballistol "only" to clean is when
camping.
Where it really shines is for lock cleaning and revolvers, getting into the nooks and crannys. Brush then flush.
I keep a squirt bottle in my bag. Use it for patch lube and for when the Remmie and Colt repro's get gunked up. Spritz wipe and back shooting.
A side note: I have noticed after soap & water cleaning when the patches are coming out clean, I run a patch with undiluted Ballistol down the barrel and the patch comes out dirty. I think the oil gets under the dirt the soap & water could not loosen and breaks it loose.
