How much difference in velocity between 5.5 inch 44 revolver barrel and 8 inches? Significant?

I know, but has anyone ever tested with a chronograph, or other means to show the difference. My interest is the 1858 Remington, which I think was only made in the longer barrel. But the 5.5 Pietta seems easier to find.

Thanks very much. That's what I was looking for. So 5.5 to 8 = 2.5 additional inches for about 50 to 60 fps. Not near as much as I would have thought with black powder. Good to know and thanks again.
