It is strange how the Cap Supply varies from place to place. Over here, a couple of years ago no one had them and profiteers were selling them on Naturabuy (Ebay for Frenchies into guns) in bags of ten for 5 euros! Now the supply is pretty constant. the prices are still way higher than yours - 30 euros for a tin of 11's and 25 Euros for a tin of musket caps. I can never work out why the musket caps are cheaper...

if the price difference is a major concern just install musket nipples on your long rifles. me my self I keep a set of musket and a modified nipples for my rifles so I can take advantage of whatever is available I never run low

Probably just from less demand.

Just look at 22 short ammo compared to 22 long rifle.


Logic says the short should cost LESS money because there's less brass less powder and less lead.... But demand says that the 22 short ammo commands the premium price

I remember Walmart stores near me stocking muzzle loader gear but they haven't done so in a long time, at least around here.

They had plenty of the 209s and I thought about getting a package which are $10 for 100 but I don't have a gun that uses them.... I do however make interesting slingshot bullets with them.

I take some foil tape and tape the striking surface of the primer to the lead ball with a little tape off the back of the primer which I take three pieces of yarn and pinch into place and it makes a dart that is front heavy somewhat like a badminton dart and they are pretty fun to shoot at block walls with a slingshot.... But I still have at least 50 of them that I have had for years and haven't used so I thought no need to buy any of them.

Years ago I saw some kids shooting Gum Drops out of a 410 with blanks. No idea how they came across blank rounds but eventually one of those kids had to be taken to the hospital to have a gum drop removed from his arse.

Somehow I can see you holding a Black Cat in your hand so you can see it go off close up!

I put together a field loading kit for myself and my son and reload with BP. Takes about a minute to reload a shell, and it's something to do at night sittin around camp.
