Thanks Guys! grumble, grumble, grumble!!!

I was already to use my newly purchased Leheigh Valley Lube for cold weather shooting here in Maine, and then I read the posts on this forum that suggest that its formula has changed and it may cause rusting in the barrel.

So now what do I do? Are there any other lubes I can use in cold weather that won't freeze up?

I'd appreciate any suggestions, and thanks in advance.

Welcome,

Lehigh still works fine as a lube from what I can tell. It just seems to have lost the ability to protect the bore as a rust proofing between shooting sessions. Use another lube, oil or a purpose formulated metal protectant (CLP Breakfree, Sheath, etc.) to coat the bore and you'll be OK.

I've been using my castor oil/alcohol moose milk for shooting and coating the bore with Moose Snot after drying the bore with a shot of WD-40 and then an alcohol wipe following a soap & water bath and am back in fine shape.
