You could take a rifle you like and cut it down into a canoe gun. ---- I took a 35" long barrel and cut it down to 18". It is now so easy to carry. The maximum effective range has been reduced. However, for our general needs it is still an effective gun.

Yes. That Canoe Gun is so easy to carry, and it goes on the point very quickly and effectively. I had a gunsmith recrown the muzzle and move the front sight from the scrap piece to the new muzzle. I have other muzzleloaders for specific needs.

the wmc percussion & it is a great rifle, I shoot w a peep, plenty accurate for me & wish I had one in flint too. If you shoot 75-80 grains they dont kick too bad. Looking at that scout in a pedersoli too.

I am 81 and switched from a Thompson Center 50 Cal to a 20-62 trade gun. I have a repaired shoulder and the weight difference makes a huge difference. My trade gun is pretty accurate at60 yards with pbr and 80 grains of ff bp. Recoil is not bad. Hope this helps.

I know how you feel. Look into a Kibler Southern Mountain Rifle in 45 cal. I have one in 40 cal, it's light and the 45 is lighter.
