It was the original M79 grenade launcher - that is, M1779±.

Hi,
It is a hand mortar, which were carried by grenadiers during the 17th and early 18th centuries. They were used to lob grenades at the enemy, hence the name "grenadiers". That is why the hat symbol for a grenadier is a flaming bomb. Nactor's motar might be a kit from TRS but I think some Indian companies also make them. The wood color and quality of the lock inlet suggest to me the latter.

Went by The Muzzleloader Shop northwest of Little Rock a few weeks ago. There was a nice grenade thrower in the picture book of past builds.

The Prussian's used them during our Rev War while in the America's. This was actually a crew served weapon used while in trenches near a fort.

First they tied a rope around the stock of the launcher. Then they loaded the gun and inserted a grenade in the barrel. The grenadier would nod at his assistant who would light the fuse. The grenadier would pull the trigger. If the gun went off then they did it again as needed.

However, if they got a klatch or a long hang fire the grenadier threw the gun with grenade out of the trench. After the grenade blew up they pulled on the rope and pulled the launcher back into the trench.

Many Klatch

In the latest LOTM there is a scene where the highlanders come out of the fort to create a diversion and one of them is carrying one of those. I think he's on screen firing it.

Ok, now I need to get one of these after I can scratch the blunderbuss itch!
